We have updated our GMB Everywhere Chrome Extension to launch our most powerful feature in a very long time. This new feature is called: Local Scan.

Q. What is Local Scan?
Local Scan gives you side-by-side competitor insights directly inside Google Maps with just one click.
It shows you detailed information about businesses in the search results. This makes it super easy to compare competitors at a glance and uncover opportunities to rank higher in your local market.
Q. Okay, that's good, but how is this going to help me rank higher on Google Maps?
We've built Local Scan to give you clear, practical insights that you can actually use to improve your ranking.
Here's how each of the tabs in our Local Scan helps:
Category tab:
Categories are one of the most important ranking factors. This tab helps you compare your categories with competitors to spot what you're missing. (See sample here)

This tab helps you compare your services with competitors to find new opportunities. (See sample here)
Reviews tab:
This tab helps you compare your review performance with competitors to see where you stand. (See sample here)
Location tab:
Proximity is a very important ranking factor. Google prioritizes businesses that are located closer to the person searching. This tab helps you understand location advantages and see how your positioning compares with competitors. (See sample here)
Open Times tab:
Google ranks businesses higher when they are open compared to closed. This tab helps you find if your competitors are getting an advantage by being open at different times, or if you can get an advantage by changing your business hours. (See sample here)
Attributes tab:
Attributes are not a known ranking factor, but they help customers get information about your business. This tab helps you compare your business attributes with competitors to identify gaps. (See sample here)

Q. How do I run Local Scan?
- Open Google Maps and search for any business type and location (example: "dentist in Miami")
- Click the Local Scan button at the top of the search results
